Victim named in hang gliding fatality

Police have released the name of the man killed in a hang gliding incident at Karioitahi Beach on Thursday 14 June. He was Scott Desmond Lalich, 34, from Morrinsville. The death has been referred to the Coroner.

Dumping a blight on beach

Easter Missions for Auckland Westpac Helicopter

On Thursday 29 March 2018 at 8:39pm, W2 crew were tasked by police from mission 275 to Karioitahi to assist with the search and rescue of person possibly in the water. Crew were stood down enroute after the person had been located with no injuries and returned to base.
