YEARLING CROP GOES UNDER THE HAMMER

The cream of New Zealand’s yearling crop is currently under the hammer, with around 1,400 young thoroughbreds to be auctioned at the annual National Yearling Sales Series.
At the height of New Zealand Bloodstock’s activities, the sales began yesterday at the Karaka Sales Complex, and will run through to Sunday, January 31. Attracting some of the best yearlings in Australasia, along with a top-class buying bench of respected international and local buyers, the National Yearling Sales Series is the showpiece event on New Zealand’s thoroughbred sales calendar. Last year’s 2015 National Yearling Sales Series had a total turnover of $67,388,650 with horses purchased by buyers from 13 different countries. Those attending will be treated to a range of stunning horses and more at the festival.
