Westpac Helicopter assists cyclist in Hunua

Westpac Helicopter team attends to the cyclist in Hunua ranges.

At 11:43am on Wednesday 15 November 2017, W2 crew were retasked from Mission 880 to the Hunua Ranges to assist a male patient in his 60’s who had an accident on his bike. He was wearing a helmet and protective gear but suffered face and back injuries. Crew were assisted by police to the accident scene and retrieved the patient by stretcher. He was flown to Middlemore Hospital in a serious condition.
