During the sweltering Anniversary Weekend, members of the Counties-Manukau Association Croquet team were competing at the annual Upper North Island Teams Event. And they won!
Two days, five, two and a half hour singles games against their opposition from Northland, Auckland, Waikato-King Country, Bay of Plenty and Thames Valley, and they came home with the shield! This region has won it six times before, but Bay of Plenty have held it for the last three years—until now!
The team of four (one from each level) were: Roger Adamson and Caroll Sanford (Howick Club) and Norm Beck and Brendon Neilson from Pukekohe Club.
A great result for them all.
