Serious crash, Awhitu Road

Two vehicles were involved in a head on collision on Awhitu Road on Tuesday 20 March.

Four people were involved in the crash, with three of them taken to hospital. Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to the scene to transport the patients.

Westpac crew assisted a female in her 30s who had suffered multiple injuries. She was flown to Auckland City Hospital in a serious condition.

A boy and girl were also assisted by the crew’s Intensive Care Paramedic at the scene. They too suffered multiple injuries and were flown by the Waikato Westpac Rescue along with the HEMS Doctor to Starship Hospital. (The boy also in a serious condition).
