School unites for CanTeen Week

Pukekohe High School held their annual CanTeen week from the 24 to the 28 of September 2018. Organised by the school’s community council, to raise money for CanTeen,  a charity for 13 – 24 year olds dealing with cancer. Events during the week included a Tug of War between sports teams, a Kiwiana themed mufti day, head shaves and a Bike Bash on Friday in the school hall.

With over 60 bikes and over 600 students taking their turn at cycling, the hall was a hive of activity! When I visited the different school houses were performing dances, the students were all pedaling hard and local policemen as well!  

Suzanne Williams, teacher liaison for CanTeen week, said the school had raised around $1400. “This is just a guess at this stage until we finalise the money, but we’re super happy to have raised that much!”
