With the upcoming Karaka sales being held at the end of January an expected 700 horses will be sold with an estimated $85 million changing hands over the week-long selling extravaganza.This year 1247 yearlings have been cataloged, presenting the very best horses the New Zealand industry has to offer.

The sales follow the Karaka Million which will be held on Saturday 27 January. The jockey that rides this year’s Karaka Million 2 year old winner earns over $400 every second they ride in the race, the winning trainer earns over $800 for every second they watch the race, and for winning connections it’s more than $8000 per second.
The Karaka Sales take place from Sunday 28 January until 4 February.
