Police tractor geared up for Pukekohe

You may have seen the Police Tractor around the Franklin area over the past couple of weeks.  The tractor has appeared at local Calf Club days at Patumahoe, Waiau Pa and Ararimu Schools over the last two weekends.
It is a great ‘a-tractor’ says Inspector Kay Lane, especially for the farmers and young ones.  It has also made an appearance at the Counties Manukau Steelers Rugby game against Hawkes Bay, the Clevedon and Pokeno markets and is to feature at the Pukekohe markets this Saturday.
On Wednesday 4 October it will be at the Pukekohe Town Square from 10am – 2pm and will be accompanied by Franklin neighbourhood Support, Pukekohe CPNZ and local Police staff.
The ‘singing’ remote control Police car will also feature, which attracts the little ones, and children can dress up in uniform, sit in the tractor and have their photos taken, all while Police will be offering burglary prevention tips to their parents.
“Identification of property around your homes, including items in your sheds and garages is vital ” says Inspector Kay Lane.
It allows Police to identify property as stolen and return to the rightful owners, and more importantly allow Police to hold the thief or receiver of stolen property accountable for their actions.
By setting up your own register on SNAP, you have a permanent record which you can supply to Police and your Insurance Company if your property is stolen.
Prevention is vital in reducing crime so please come and visit the Town Square on Wednesday and Police will introduce you to www.snap.org.nz so we can help reduce burglary offending in Franklin, and come and sit in the Police Tractor.
Norwood Pukekohe have been transporting the Police tractor around the Franklin area throughout the last few weeks.
