Not to be missed…

If you weren’t able to make the Tuakau and Pukekohe Christmas Parades over the weekend, never fear, as the NZ Steel Waiuku Christmas Parade is set to be bigger and better than ever.

To be held on Saturday, December 12, the town is set to come alive with festivities. From 11am, Bowen Street will be closed to traffic to host 40 market stalls, selling arts and crafts, clothing and gifts, while the town centre will showcase entertainment that the whole family can enjoy. This year’s theme for the parade is ‘Anything Goes,’ and with over 30 floats entered, Waiuku Town Manager, Sharlene Druyven, says there is going to be huge variety on display.
“With this year’s theme, we actually don’t know what the floats are going to look like, making it an even more exciting day. I really hope the community comes out to support this fantastic event.”
From recreating a birthday cake and community super heroes to what Christmas means as a five year old, all of the floats have been left to the imagination of their creators. The parade starts at 2pm, with Queen Street closed from 1pm to 3pm, and King Street closed during the time the parade is on. Please Note: Bowen Street will closed from 9:30am. Sunday, November 13, will be the rain day, but there will be no markets, only the parade.
