The children and staff of Little Ants have been very busy recently working to help a sick friend.

Grayson Swann, one of the children at Little Ants was recently diagnosed with leukaemia.
“It has been a tough time for him and his family, so we wanted to do something to try to help,” said centre manager Linda Dyer.
“Daffodil day was coming up so the fundraising we had planned to do for that, we decided to redirect it to directly help one of our own.”
The preschool children and staff spent a whole day baking and decorating, then individually wrapping about 100 biscuits.
On Thursday 24 August, the team took five children and set up a stall outside Paper Plus Waiuku, who kindly them setup outside.
Thanks to the kind donations from the Waiuku community Little Ants collected $219.20 on Thursday. They collected another $200 from staff and families on Friday at their ‘Wacky Yellow Dress-up Day’, for a grand total of $403.40! This money will go directly to Grayson Swann and his family.
