Historic building to be relocated

Pukekohe’s 104 year old railway station building will be relocated according to an Auckland Transport spokesperson.
“It has been agreed to relocate the building and investigation into relocation works are underway,” the spokesperson said last week. “Unfortunately, at this stage no further details are available.”
The Franklin Heritage Forum who have been advocating for the building to remain, are disappointed with the lack of communication and consultation.
The building is owned by KiwiRail and leased to Auckland Transport.
