Festive Celebrations at The Port Waikato Christmas Parade

Santa ‘Michael Foster’ Claus travelled in styleaboard the Chuck Wagon.

Described as a success, 17 floats and eight decorated bikes took to Maraetai Bay last Saturday for the annual Port Waikato Christmas Parade.

Santa turned up in a Chuck Wagon float, giving lollies to the crowds along the road side, while judges Waikato Mayor, Allan Sanson and wife Trish, along with Councillor Rosemarie Costar, tried to pick the winners for each category. The winners were:

First: Sylvia’s Café; Second: Port
Waikato Fire Brigade; Third:
Port Waikato Yacht Club.
ADULT COSTUME:
First: Dan Dwen; Second: Glennis
Paton; Third: Vic Ellis.
CHILDREN COSTUME:
First: Haley Lapwood; Second:
Charlie Gaunt; Third: Caleb
Lapwood.
BABIES COSTUME:
First: Malaika Klay; Second:
Mckenzie Lally; Third: Stella
Baptiste.
BIKES:
First: Alex Upfold; Second: Marcus
Purua; Third: Caleb Lapwood.
MOST UNIQUE:
Little Yellow Digger and Chitty
Chitty Bang Bang.
BEST VEHICLE:
Black Betty – Santa’s Sled
ANIMALS:
First: Rupert Gilmour (dog);
