Waiuku Swimming Club is about to kick off its 50th year of summer swimming at the Whiteside Pool.
The club is in a healthy position thanks to the support of the local community.
“We have as our mission a desire to build on the strong base that we have established and offer a wider range of swimming opportunities to support our community. This would include training for competitive swimmers, preparation for School Group day and Zone swimming events, general fitness and technique tuition for triathletes and ocean swimming competitors,” says Anita Manning.
Their coaching is headed by Jacqui Waldegrave, who has a passion for swimming having been a competitive swimmer and is currently an active surf lifeguard and ocean swimming competitor.
The first club night for this season will be on Tuesday, December 15, and will commence at 4pm. The club will be offering a free fun night and the opportunity to register.
