Charlie hits Top 1% two years running

Charlie Norton has done it again, achieving High Distinction for the second year running in the International Competition Assessment for Schools (ICAS) Spelling Exam.

The Year 7 student goes to Awhitu District School and the exams are run by the University of New South Wales.
Awhitu District School Principal, Kristie Thomas, says, “Charlie is in the top 1% of New Zealand and the Pacific Region for Spelling at Year 7 level. This is an incredible achievement, and to be awarded this two years in a row, is outstanding. We are very proud of Charlie’s achievements.”
ICAS Exam subjects include Digital Technologies, English, Maths, Science, Writing and Charlie’s specialty, Spelling. Over one million student entries are accepted from over 6300 schools in Australia and New Zealand annually.
