Auckland Westpac Helicopter missions for the weekend

The weekend saw Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter attended to 11 missions over the weeekend, with two of those being in our distribution area.

On Saturday 25 NOVEMBER 2017 at 11:15am,  W2 crew were tasked to Onewhero to assist at a motor vehicle accident where a ute had rolled 20 metres down a bank. Police Eagle was also tasked due to the occupant missing from the vehicle. When they were  not found, after a substantial search,Westpac 2 was stood down and returned to base.

On Sunday 26 November 2017 at 12:45pm, W2 crew were tasked to Glen Murray to assist a male patient in his 40’s who had fallen down a bank on a dirt bike trail ride. He was travelling at a moderate speed and was wearing full protective gear. He suffered multiple injuries and was flown to Middlemore Hospital in a serious condition.
