A note from Emma’s desk
From engagement and baby announcements, to the deaths of several iconic legends from my childhood, I am not sure about how this year is going to play out.
At one stage during my childhood, I thought my mum was the legend, David Bowie, himself, with her fantastically cut mullet and high cheek bones. My siblings and I were raised on Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, and proceeded to have nightmares right up until recently about those horrid looking goblins from the Labyrinth.
I hope you are all refreshed after a well deserved holiday over the festive season, and managed to squeeze in some quality time with loved ones.
I was reunited with my family, and my scarily translucent skin was able to catch some much needed rays of sunshine, safely of course!
As for New Year resolutions, I may as well just rewrite the ones I made ten years ago, as I never seem to stick with it. One resolution I do hope to keep is to continue our crusade of eating healthy that the team began last December. As much I try not to admit it, I gorged myself over Christmas, and am surprised that I can actually still fit through the office door. Being back in the office has certainly sparked that motivation again, and we now have the goal of completing the Sunset Coast Walk, which will be held at the end of February.
We are looking forward to another year of continuing to serve our Franklin community by bringing out weekly newspapers fabulously full of local content.
We enjoy hearing from our readers, whether it is the good, the bad or the ugly, so please feel free to drop us a line at email@example.com.
