A note from Emma’s desk

Another year done and dusted and it only feels like yesterday that I started back here at the Post. The last couple of months has seen me totally enveloped into a whirlwind of all things community, and I have enjoyed every minute of it.
This week has been a mission for us, as we have two issues to complete in the time frame that it usually takes us to complete one. But our amazing team did it without too many complaints, proving that many hands make light work.
I cannot reiterate how important our focus is – that we are always going to be for the community, providing journalism at is most intimate, caring, political and personal states. We are 100 percent locally owned and operated, which is becoming a rarity in the media world, and enjoy being a voice for the Franklin community. Our motto is to report, inform and educate.
After reviewing this past year, I believe we have done just that.
We will continue to strive to create positive relationships with members of the Franklin community, and encourage you to send through your pictures and editorial if we cannot be there to attend and cover your event – the more local content, the better.
While we managed to fit as much content as we could in this week’s issue, be sure to keep an eye out for our holiday edition, which will be hitting your mailboxes between Christmas and New Year.
Thank you for the privilege of being able to work for you, our Franklin community, and provide you with a weekly community newspaper at its finest. I wish you all a safe, and Merry Christmas, and a fantastic New Year. We will be closed from Wednesday, December 23, and will reopen again on Wednesday, January 13, 2016.
