Pukekohe and Waiuku premier rugby teams played in a memorial match on Saturday 17 June for the late Counties Manukau referee Graham Eddy who passed away last December.
The teams played at Pukekohe for the 'Graham Eddy Memorial Trophy', a tribute to a 'top bloke who loved rugby and refereeing'.
Pukekohe took the 28-7 win against Waiuku, winning the trophy, but were unable to secure a four-try bonus point in the second half.
The home side raced to a 28-0 at halftime, however the visitors came back strong in the second half.
"We were very dominant in the first half and go what we needed done,” assistant coach Mark Price said.
“Waiuku piled a lot of pressure on us in the second half and came back at us. The old cliché of a game of two halves was pretty evident. A lot of good and bad but we will definitely take the win.”
