In less than two weeks, the Waiuku Netball Centre will be celebrating its Diamond Jubilee.
It’s been 60 years since the original centre was officially opened in 1957, and as part of the Jubilee celebrations, a Carnival Day will be held at the centre.
On Saturday 24 June, teams, coaches and supporters are invited to come along and enjoy a fun day at the courts.
The playing format for the day is a Knockout Tournament, and will include giveaways, dress-ups, sausage sizzle, goodie bags and more.
An exhibition game starring an ‘old girls’ team will feature netball from yesteryear and will see players wearing pleated tunics, white collared shirts and black stockings.
Guest umpires will no doubt provide some light entertainment for everyone.
Organisers are encouraging attendees to wear their club colours and head along to the courts to enjoy the celebrations.
