With Queens Birthday weekend well and truly behind us, it is hard to believe that our next public holiday is over four months away.
I hope most of you enjoyed the last long weekend for a while! I certainly did.
While the bank account said no, my mind definitely screamed yes, and I managed to get out of Franklin for the weekend.
I escaped to the winterless north to my aunty and uncle's farm for a bit of relaxation and recovery—sometimes the change of scenery and a long drive is just what the mind needs.
I love northland. There is just something special about it.
As soon as you hit those Brynderwyn hills, you know you have left the hustle and bustle of Auckland life behind.
One of my favourite past times up on the farm is to feed the ‘pet’ eels in their natural waterways. No word of a lie, these eels are monsters.
Their size is stuff that nightmares are made of, and even at my age, they still give me the heebie-jeebies.
The winterless north truly exceeded expectations—people running around in T-shirts and shorts. It was one last taste of warm weather before winter fully strikes down here!
Also, a massive congratulations to my bestie Natalie, and her hubby Ari, on the arrival of baby Heath.
About time! We were wondering if he was ever going to vacate the premises!
I got asked the other day if I was feeling clucky, and when was I going to chuck everything in to have kids.
I can’t deny that baby Heath makes my heart flutter, but right now, I don’t see the point in having children when I can get my baby fix from my friends, and still hand them back at the end of the day!
