With a 5 – 1 lead mid way through the second half, most sides would feel comfortable with such an advantage. Perhaps Waiuku AFC found themselves in unfamiliar ground, and took the foot off the gas? Whatever it was, the lads from Pukekohe Football made the last 20 minutes very uncomfortable for the home team.
Frustrating them into mistake after mistake, and bringing Waiuku down to ten men, this saw a flurry of goals perhaps a little late and made for a nerve wracking last 10 minutes for the Waiuku team. Pukekohe were unlucky not to get the equalizer late, allowing Waiuku to still hold onto there 11 year unbeaten record against their across town rivals. Well, at least until there next round.
Man of the match was Waiuku's Kerry Wedding for his brace.
