Around 10.40pm Friday, November 11, Police were called to an aggravated robbery at the Scoundrels and Sea Dogs premises in George St, Tuakau, after reports of two masked men entering the bar carrying firearms.
“It is alleged one of the men hit an employee over the head with a firearm. They received minor injuries,” said Detective Sergeant Steve Williamson.
“The offenders made employees open the safe and fled the scene with some items. They then fled in a stolen vehicle which was later located on Whangarata Rd where it had been set on fire.”
Police have completed an examination of the burned vehicle and are awaiting results. Inquiries are continuing to identify and locate the offenders.
