Inspirational teenager loses battle with cancer
The Post Newspaper would like to offer our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of inspirational teenager, Amber-Lee Lawrie.
The bubbly Waiuku College student passed away last week, aged 17, after battling Ewing sarcoma, a tumour on the spine which left her paralysed below the waist.
Amber-Lee was renowned for her infectious, happy personality, and raised awareness for those living with disabilities by organising a weekly wheelchair basketball event with the Auckland Wheelbreakers, as well as raising well over $11,000 for CanTeen.
Despite her illness, Amber-Lee dedicated her life to helping others.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1.30pm on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the Aka Aka School Hall.
