Bonsai Club Meeting
It’s coming up to late Winter and Spring is just around the corner! This means our trees are about to wake up from their winter dormancy.

In the bonsai world this time of year is the best time to collect wild bonsai material from the ground and transplant into a container/pot.

It is also time to get all your supplies ready for the coming repotting season. This includes your bonsai soil substrate and bonsai pots or containers ready to use and also making sure you have a bonsai root rake, a sharp pair of root pruning shares, a root hook, chop sticks, drainage hole mesh, 2mm wire, and a pair of root cutters if needed for those larger roots.

Our next meeting will be a repotting workshop and other late winter/early spring bonsai maintenance. If you have any trees that are ready to be repotted please bring any trees you have along to the workshop and we can help you with them if needed.

Please note that each tree species is different when it comes to the best time of year to re pot and root prune. If you are unsure about the species you have there is lots of information on the Internet, in books and on YouTube about re potting different species, or bring your trees in and one of our members will point you in the right direction.

The meeting will be held on Sunday the 14th of August, from 1pm-5pm ,at 108b Morley Road, Waiuku.

The meeting is no cost to attend but please bring a gold coin donation if you wish to have a cuppa tea or coffee.

We hope to see you there!
