While most children his age spent their holidays chasing imaginary Pokemon characters, Harrison Shuker received a kick start to his future career. The bright Waiuku resident has the dream of becoming a Michelin Star Chef, and took the initiative to approach the Good Home Takanini Restaurant for volunteer experience in the industry. Last Tuesday, Harrison spent the afternoon behind the scenes, learning about food preparation for the dinner rush. He even volunteered to do some potato washing and peeling. The team at the Good Home Takanini were so impressed by his initiative and passion for the industry that they took to social media acknowledging him, stating they believe he has a bright future ahead. They even went a step further by asking his parents to bring him back the following day so that they could present him with his very own chef whites. With plenty of room to grow into them, the 12 year old was ‘pretty chuffed’ to say the least.
